				Pinoso is a town located in the interior of the province of Alicante, in the Medio Vinalopó region, bordering the Region of Murcia, located 45 minutes from Alicante airport and 50 minutes from the beaches.

THE HISTORY THAT SHAPED PINOSO
				The people of Pinoso celebrate the Día del Villazgo, the Sunday closest to 12th February, to commemorate the granting of the title of ‘Real Villa’ to Pinoso in 1826. Before that, Pinoso was part of the domains of the Duchy of Híjar, and under the protection of the town of Monóvar, on which it depended administratively as a hamlet, until the beginning of 1826, when the King granted independence, giving Pinoso the privilege of Villazgo.
Among the most popular fiestas in Pinoso are the Feria y Fiestas de Pinoso in honour of the Virgen del Remedio, which is held in the first week of August, the fiestas in the Santa Catalina district and the various hamlets also celebrate their own fiestas

				The most emblematic monuments and places in Pinoso are the Clock Tower built in 1889, the Church of San Pedro Apóstol from 1739, the Santa Catalina Chapel, the Virgen de Fátima Chapel, the House of Don Pedro, the Association Centre, El Pouet, the Mural in the Town Hall car park, the House of Marble and Wine, the ‘Cucos’ scattered throughout the municipality, the Nature Centre with a camping area and picnic area, from where the Senda dels gal. lers, La cova del gegant in Monte Cabezo, etc.
The gastronomy of Pinoso attracts many outsiders who come to our town to taste our traditional dishes.
